Return to Learn Plan

  • On July 21, 2021 the Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan for 2021-22 school year was discussed at the Board of Education meeting. 

    On November 1, 2021, the Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan for the 2021-22 school year was published to the Troy 30-C School District website in English and Spanish. Along with the plan, surveys in English and Spanish were posted to gather public comment. Invitations to review the plan and take the survey were shared through email communication from the Superintendent and posted on the district’s social media accounts.

    Survey results were presented to the Board of Education at the January 19, 2022 Board of Education meeting. 

    Survey results indicate that stakeholders would like funds to be prioritized for additional staff, social emotional and mental well-being, special populations, facility improvements, and technology equipment and access.

How Much Money Will ESSER III Provide?

  • ESSER III will provide nearly $122 billion to state educational agencies and school districts to help safely reopen and sustain the safe operation of schools and address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the nation’s students.

    Troy 30C School District is expected to receive $3,126,730.00 in ESSER III funds.

How Will Troy 30C Use Its ESSER III Funds?

  • As presented at the January 2022 Board of Education meeting, the District plans to use its ESSER III grant money in four major areas:

    • Additional Staffing
    • Academic Supports 
    • Social-Emotional & Mental Health Supports
    • Health and Safety
    • Facility Improvements

    Commitments for Our Students through Additional Staffing and Programming for Academic Supports: 

    • Implementation of pilots of Tier III research based interventions in Reading and Math 
    • Provide grade level tutoring services outside of the school day to offer additional targeted academic support 
    • Provide grade level tutoring services outside of the school day to offer additional targeted academic support to students learning in quarantine 
    • Provide summer learning opportunities for reading and math in 2022
    • Administer FastBridge progress monitoring assessment to students receiving special education and Tier III support 
    • Implementation of pilot curriculum for English Learners 
    • Implementation of pilot curriculum for Bilingual Learners

    Commitments for Our Students through Additional Staffing and Programming for Social Emotional & Mental Health Supports: 

    • Implementation of Second Step Social Emotional curriculum
    • Provide Mental Health care services through Care Solace for any students or families in need 
    • Provide summer learning opportunities for play and teamwork activities in 2022

    Commitments for Our Students for Health & Safety 

    • Provide masks for students and staff
    • Equip schools with wipes, gloves, paper towels, disinfectant, and sanitizer
    • Use of electrostatic misting machines to disinfect school spaces as needed

    Commitments to Improve Facilities 

    • Instal HVAC rooftop unit at Shorewood Elementary to improve air quality
