The audit is the summary report that is provided to the district by the auditor. This summarizes all revenue, expenditures, investments, and fund balances. Cash receipts, accounting procedures, payroll, tax payments, and similar activities are verified for accuracy and any corrections are made before closing out the fiscal year (July to June).

The annual financial report is the summary report that is provided to the district by the auditor. This summarizes all revenue, expenditures, investments, and fund balances. This form must be filed with the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) annually to report on the financial health of the district.

The annual statement of affairs is a summary report that is prepared by the district to provide financial information at a very high level. This summarizes all revenue, expenditures, investments, fund balances, and some more detailed information. An abbreviated form of this statement is published in a local newspaper each year.

All contracts for purchase of supplies and materials or work involving an expenditure in excess of $35,000 or a lower amount as required by board policy, to be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, considering conformity with specifications, terms of delivery, quality and serviceability unless an exception applies. See 105 ILCS 5/10-20.21 for a list of exceptions.

Compensation Reports

This is a comprehensive report that details the base salary, vacation days, sick days, and other benefits. The information provided is considerably more than what is required by State of Illinois Statute. The total reported is intended to estimate the total employment cost of each individual including applicable payroll taxes.
