Degrees and Certifications:
Dr. Todd J. Koehl
I am fortunate to serve Troy Community Consolidated School District #30-C where we believe the future begins for our students. Each day, we work toward the goal of excellence.
When I think of your visit to our district, I believe that we haven’t served you if you are in our district for longer than two minutes and one of our employees hasn’t introduced him or herself, seeking to know how we can help. It is our job to serve our customers: our students, our families, and our community. If this is not your experience, then please give me a call so we can continue to improve.
Our district is comprised of approximately 4500 students and 600 certified and educational support personnel. The Troy Community Consolidated School District #30-C covers 26.5 square miles of residences, businesses, parks, farms and industry in Joliet, Plainfield, and Shorewood. The PK-8 district includes seven buildings—five elementary buildings serving PK—4th grades, one intermediate building that houses our 5th and 6th grades, and a junior high for our 7th and 8th grade students. The district is proud of these schools and maintains them to the benefit of our students, families, and communities.
Our district is fortunate to have the support and leadership of a strong Board of Education that cares about our students, their enthusiastic parents, and our community. The district knows that these three groups are essential to its success, and we proudly serve them. The board continually supports a diverse set of clubs and programs to meet students’ interests and enrich their education. Each building has a parent organization that allows for parent involvement, and each building has events designed to bring our families into the school for fun and learning. As a community partner, the district opens its doors to several student-centered organizations and supports local initiatives that benefit the community. All of the above is approved and welcomed in the board’s vision.
Troy 30-C offers students opportunities to access challenging and current curricula in language arts, math, science, social studies, physical education art, music, and technology. The district fosters student independent learning lead by dedicated teachers with access to resources in both print and technology. Each classroom teacher practices a differentiated approach to student learning through the distribution of the curricular materials in the best method to meet students where they are in their education process. In our current school improvement process, we have set our goal of continuous improvement in both student achievement and student progress. All students can learn, and we make sure that we pay attention to both the core curriculum and responsive teaching where we meet student where they are in their growth trajectory.
We are proud to be a member of our community and serve our parents and students. We think our staff and programs are beyond compare, and we love the opportunities we have to make a difference in our community. We encourage you to learn more about us at www.troy30c.org or by calling our district office at 815.577.6760. We think you will like what you see.
We look forward to another great school year.
